California Northstars U14 take 2nd Place in Juventus Championship Cup!

On Friday August 3rd, Northstars played against the 8th ranked Northern California team, Madera Roja FC, from Redwood City. The final ended in the Northstars favor as they scored their 3rd goal of the day with 5 minutes to spare, final score 3-2.
Returning across the bay to play their second game in Union City later that evening, Northstars faced the 10th ranked team from Nevada, Barcelona FC 99. Northstars posted a 6-0 score as the team's midfield, consisting of Emmanuel, Jose, Chepe, Danny, Jorge and Kevin, took control of the game early and continuously fed the front line, made up of Armando, Julian and Al, with assist after assist to win the match.
Saturday's face-off was against the Juventus SC United team, in the semi-final match to fight for placement in the championship game. Northstars scored first and held on with it's strong defensive line, made up of Byron, Brian, Javier, Jose, Daniel and Fabian, to win 1-0 with an advancement to Finals.
The afternoon of the championship round the Northstars faced Juventus Aztecs Premier team, ranked 23rd in the country and 6th in Northern California, to battle it out for the championship taking. In the end, the Northstars were able to hold the game scoreless for 40 minutes before the Aztecs tallied 4 goals to win 4-1.
