Paul McCallion / Director of SACYSL's Competitive Program has been instrumental with bridging football's finest, English Premier team, Bolton Wanderers and SACYSL together. A week long camp mid July, seeded the relationship with Bolton, proving SACYSL to be a "serious, well organized club". 55 of SACYSL's top competitive players attended camp and were given an opportunity to learn new fundamentals & technical foot work on the ball. Students during camp were also put to the "athleticism test" often moving far beyond their own comfort zone - requiring a stronger drive and committment to succeed. 7 of SACYSL's top competitive players were selected to visit England and play against other peers from around the world in their age group. We are very much looking forward to a long term partnership with Bolton, and would like to say thank you to Paul McCallion for positioning our club as such.
San Lorenzo Community Park
At the request of a very active community, the H.A.R.D. Board of Directors began the process to update the San Lorenzo Community Park Master Plan. Subsequent meetings and discussion were held, with the goal of improving this wonderful community park that would meet the needs of the community, while staying in line with architectural feasibility.
On September 10, 2012, a Work Session of the Board was held, where the Board received a report from the architect, RRM Design Group, about the master plan process that had occurred over the past four months. RRM Design Group also presented a power point presentation that summarized community input from previous meetings. Included in the presentation were the initial three preliminary concepts and two new preferred plans. The preferred plans contained most of the amenities suggested by the community, along with current codes and regulations required in the development of the new master plan. There was strong community support in favor of the existing pond, and following more deliberation, the Board directed the architect to proceed with refining Preferred Plan 2.
Below are links to the slideshow presentation and the proposed plans that were reviewed..
PREVIOUS DISCUSSION:
On May 2, 2012, a community meeting and workshop was held where community input was received on the future design of the park. The links below provide access to 1) the dot exercise results of Concept A, B and C (Concept B did not receive any dots); 2) written comments for Concepts A, B and C; 3) general comments that were noted; 4) graph charts from the previous workshop, and 5) sign-in sheets.
