Want to become a Referee??

The world’s most popular sport, soccer continues to grow in popularity in the USA, specifically with youth.  So WHY not become a referee? All you need is a soccer ball and some open space to get a game started.

Refereeing is a great way to gain experience and give back to the community by contributing to the development of SACYSL's soccer program.  Should you decide to become a SACYSL referee, keep this in mind.....Soccer is a sport where the players are constantly on the move, as are the soccer referees.  In a game where players can run up to six miles, physical conditioning of the soccer referee should be close to the conditioning of the player to keep pace with play and maintain                                                 a good view of the action.

Soccer referee opportunities start as early as the age of 13 for youth soccer players.  To become certified, young officials must pass a written exam and complete a minimum number of training hours.
